I love pizzas and I love to experiment. I have always wanted to try a no onion/no garlic tomato sauce that can be used for pizzas, pastas, wraps and all sorts. I tried this 5 ingredient slow roasted tomato sauce and it was made in a fry pan. It turned out delicious, chunky and flavourful! I can't wait to share it with you and I hope you love making this one!

  • Tomatoes - 4 medium sized

  • Olive Oil - 6 tablespoons

  • Salt - to taste

  • Red Chilli Flakes - 1 teaspoon

  • Rosemary - 1/2 teaspoon

  • Water - 1/2 cup

  1. Wash and cut the tomatoes into four.

  2. Take a fry pan and add one tablespoon of olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add in the tomatoes.

  3. Let the tomatoes roast for at least 7 minutes on a medium flame. If cooking on an induction, keep it at 1000 on a pressure cook mode.

  4. After letting it roast, flip the tomatoes to the other side and drizzle some salt over it. Let it slow roast for 7 to 8 minutes.

  5. Mash the tomatoes with a spoon slowly and mix them together. Add some more salt as per your taste. Keep mashing as per your requirement. I like it chunky, so I left a few chunks of the tomato. If you like it smooth, mash it as per your preference.

  6. Once the oil separates from the pan, add a bit of water to add a glaze and stir thoroughly.

  7. After 5 minutes, add red chilli flakes and rosemary and coat them with the tomatoes.

  8. Switch off the stove and cool down the mixture. Transfer the sauce to an airtight jar. Use it as a spread or sauce for pizzas, sandwiches, wraps, or pastas.

The sauce will stay good for seven to ten days. Please let me know if you like the sauce! See you soon with another recipe.
