Paneer Bhurji is a traditional Indian recipe that has ruled the households for centuries now. Made with ghee, cottage cheese and home grown spices. In this recipe, I have tried my version of the dish. Hope you guys enjoy reading and making it!

 

Ingredients:

  • Paneer: 250 gms (crumbled)

  • Cumin Seeds: handful

  • Tomato: 1 medium (chopped)

  • Capsicum: 1 medium (finely chopped)

  • Ghee: 4 to 6 tablespoons

  • Turmeric Powder: 1/2 teaspoon

  • Red Chilli Powder: 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon

  • Coriander Powder: 1/2 teaspoon

  • Garam Masala: 1/2 teaspoon (optional)

  • Salt: to taste


 

Method:


  1. Take a pan and add ghee, cumin seeds to it. Let it splutter.

  2. Add the chopped tomatoes and a pinch of salt. Let it cook for 2 minutes or until the tomatoes are half cooked. Later, add the capsicum.

  3. Add the spices (turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder) and cook it evenly.

  4. Once the vegetables are coated well with the spices, add the crumbled cottage cheese/paneer and saute it well.

  5. Add salt to taste and mix them well. The mixture should be cooked on medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes.

  6. At the end, add garam masala (optional) and coriander leaves or kasuri methi (dry methi) for garnishing.

  7. Add one teaspoon of ghee after garnishing and mix well.


Your Paneer Bhurji is ready to gobble.
